AIA SAN DIEGO + DESIGN WEEK
PANEL SERIES: EXAMINING OUR BORDER THROUGH THE LENS OF ART, CULTURE AND ARCHITECTURE
The American Institute of Architects San Diego (AIA SD) presents a celebration of LatinX Heritage Month through the lens of art, culture and architectural design. We will feature a panel-led discussion examining our U.S./Mexico border and the positive impact art, culture, and architecture has on both communities.
These conversations are important to all of us living and working in our cross-border region, and we think you will enjoy hearing from diverse voices and perspectives from the design community. Recordings of these dynamic interviews, discussions, and conversations will be published and accessible for all to view at any time.
Conversations will be released daily starting September 15th.

FEAR NO ART: Civic Engagement, Histories, Currencies @ San Diego Central Library Gallery
Fear No Art: Civic Engagement, Histories, Currencies invites the public to consider the artworks in the City of San Diego Civic Art Collection and the narratives that emerge when engaging with local contemporary artists. Together, these artworks represent a wide range of themes and approaches, acting as a provocation for the viewer to consider concepts such as institutional criticism, the ability of art to speak effectively with and for the masses, the specificity of the Collection of Civic Art, and the notion of collection itself.
Fear No Art is curated by Dr. Lara Bullock and features the work of Eric Blau, Donald Borthwick, Mildred Bryant Brooks, Celeste Byers, Collective Magpie, Jung Ho Grant, William Hogarth, Robert Kelly, Leslie William Lee, Jacquelyn Hughes Mooney, John Parot, Cat Chiu Phillips, Charles Reiffel, Zoya Sardashti, Jean Swiggett, Terry Turrell, Jerry O. Wilkerson, and Joe Yorty.
